Definitions of basic body directions for a deeper practice
ANTERIOR AND POSTERIOR
ANTERIOR: FRONT of body or direction toward the FRONT of the body
POSTERIOR: BACK of body or direction toward the BACK of the body
You will often hear these terms in a class as it relates to the movement of the pelvis.
“Tilt your pelvis anteriorly or posteriorly”
In an anterior tilt, the front of the pelvis moves forward and down. A posterior tilt is when the back of the pelvis (think tailbone), tucks downward.
